If it fails, they will have to come up with the money to fix it...and fast or it will be exactly as Sheryl describes. Malani, the ulterior motives are tax free profits to fund the next project and the next, and to fund the salaries of the officers and employees of South County Housing, Inc. If the project is built, and when the water system, storm drainage system, and sewage system problems begin, South County Housing Inc. and the County will likely use Live Oak/Soquel Redevelopment money to try and fix the problems and to make a legal defense against the inevitable lawsuits. Poor Felton, poor Live Oak, poor Soquel. I wonder when someone in power at the County will have the guts to stand up and say "Enough! Stop! This is a bad idea!" I wonder who it will be.
