April Dawn Jackson Reynolds, 41, of Boulder Creek, is serving a sentence of 10 years in state prison for killing 20-year-old Lauren Berglund in a car crash on Highway 9.
She was sentenced by Judge Jeff Almquist in Santa Cruz County Superior Court. The maximum sentence was 11 years.
Jackson Reynolds pleaded guilty Feb. 21 to killing Berglund, also of Boulder Creek, while driving drunk on Highway 9 near Bear Creek Road in May 2007.
Reynolds was charged with gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated with a blood-alcohol level of 0.27 percent. The legal limit in California is 0.08 percent.
