A letter to the editor from Marci-Beth Maple in Scotts Valley
EDITOR,
I would like to publicly thank Rick Wright for taking the time to succinctly put the Target discussion into some needed perspective in his April 25 commentary. It was refreshing to see some straight thinking and a lack of hyperbole as our community grapples with this issue. Like him, I am not certain if Target is right for our city, but I am grateful to our city staff for carefully considering all possible impacts, both positive and negative, before making a decision.
Like other letter writers in the April 25 issue of the Press-Banner, I also urge members of the media to seek out other members of our community, aside from Paul Bach and Frank Kertai, to represent those in opposition, if only to provide a broader balance in reporting. It is also important to note that many in our community support the idea of Target — I’d like to see their perspectives equally covered.
