I have served in a variety of public and political arenas and here’s what I believe: Barbara Sprenger is the right candidate for the Assembly.
She has been consistently involved in our community, starting at the local level, working toward positive educational opportunity in the San Lorenzo Valley. She understands and acts upon her convictions about what quality education for our children is and why it’s important.
She has been involved with local ownership of water resources. She understands and acts upon her environmental convictions that local people should have control over local precious and essential resources.
She rose from an indigent background to a prosperous "green" business owner. She understands how to run a successful enterprise and the needs of business.
She is ahead of all other candidates because she initiated major actions — before she’s even been elected: petitioning for student loan support in return for public service, petitioning for reform on the California health care gridlock, petitioning for a loan program that promotes energy-efficient technologies for homes and small businesses, petitioning for excellence in education for every child.
No other candidate has already lobbied for these important actions.
Progressive people are her endorsers, and that’s very important to Santa Cruz County. If this isn’t enough, I don’t know what is.
