Sept. 13
 
Someone entered a rental car on the 16900 block of Highway 236 in Boulder Creek and punched the ignition system at 9 p.m. The cost of the repair is unknown. 

Someone found a coffee can full of change and miscellaneous copper fittings at 8:47 p.m. on the 14200 block of West Park Avenue in Boulder Creek. 

Sept. 11 
 
A man was caught throwing beer bottles off a bridge on the 15400 block of Bear Creek Road in Boulder Creek at 5:05 p.m. He was intoxicated and had more beer with him.  

Suspects posing as AAA employees contacted an elderly man from Felton at Costco Wholesale in Santa Cruz and told him he needed repairs to his car and that they could get him a discount. The suspects went to the elderly man’s bank to withdraw $3,800. The suspects fled the scene when a bank employee was notified of the scam at 2:01 p.m.  

Sept. 10 
 
A young person reported being attacked by a man at 8:46 a.m. on the 6200 block of Highway 9 in Felton.  

Someone vandalized a street sign by cutting the zip tie holding the sign to the post at 7 p.m. on the 200 block of West Hilton Drive in Boulder Creek. 

Two men and a woman were found to be under the influence of methamphetamine during a parole search at 11:11 a.m. on the 12600 block of Flat Street in Boulder Creek. All three were arrested and booked into jail. 

Sept. 9
 
A pipe with both ends capped off was found near the road on the 15300 block of Highway 9 in Boulder Creek at 5:29 p.m. The bomb team was called in, and the device was found not to be a bomb. 

Sept. 5 
 
Someone tagged several locations on the grounds of the school on the 1400 block of Pine Flat Road in Bonny Doon at midnight. 

Sept. 4
 
Someone smashed an upstairs window and entered a liquor store on the 12900 block of Highway 9 in Boulder Creek. When a door was opened on the inside, an alarm sounded and the person fled without taking anything.  

Aug. 26
 
A man and a woman were arrested after a search of a home on the 400 block of Sylvan Avenue in Boulder Creek turned up three marijuana grow rooms. One-hundred-seventy-nine marijuana plants were confiscated from the home at 1 p.m.

Someone sawed through two boards of a dam on the river, rendering the fish ladder inoperative on the 6400 block of East Zayante Road in Mount Hermon.

Sept. 12
 
A 24-year-old man was seen drinking an alcoholic beverage at a bus stop in front of a church on the 5200 block of Scotts Valley Drive at 9:50 p.m. The man had a warrant and was cited and released with a court date. 

Sept. 11
 
A man fell asleep at the wheel of his car on the 100 block of Mt. Hermon Road and drove off the road onto private property and crashed into a cable box, fence and sign before driving off a retaining wall. The man was not seriously injured in the accident. 

Sept. 8 
 
Someone broke a patio umbrella and four stepping stones at a business on the 5600 block of Scotts Valley Drive at 5 p.m. The estimated damage was $287. 

Ben Lomond Fire Protection District
 
Sept. 12
 
A truck reportedly en route to Ben Lomond through Boulder Creek spilled diesel fuel along Highway 9 early Friday afternoon, slowing traffic as fire crews worked to clean the mess. The truck, which was not identified, left a trail of fuel along the roadway including a large, slippery puddle on the roadway in front of Henfling’s in Ben Lomond. Firefighters quickly worked to cover the slippery liquid while temporarily closing the southbound lane to traffic.
