Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office Sept. 17 A man resisted arrest at 10:50 a.m. on the 6100 block of Highway 9 in Felton. The man tried to bite one deputy and then ordered his dog to attack the deputies. The dog was called away by a bystander, and the man was arrested and taken to jail.
A man reported that there have been numerous incidents of trespassing and theft on his property on the 20000 block of Big Basin Road in Boulder Creek at 12:30 p.m. Many locks and gates have been cut, cars burglarized, car parts stolen and gas siphoned from vehicles on his property, he said.
Sept. 16 A security video caught a man stealing a car battery from another parked car in a parking lot on the 6200 block of Graham Hill Road in Felton and placing the battery into his own car at 3:30 p.m. The man was contacted by deputies and arrested for theft and for violating his probation.
Sept. 15 A woman woke up to a dog barking at 4:20 a.m. on the 6200 block of Gushee Street in Felton. She looked out her window and saw a person climbing out of her yard over a 4-foot fence. In the daylight hours, she found two broken eggs and a smashed tomato in her driveway.
Sept. 14 A bike was stolen from a man’s front yard at 4 p.m. on the 9400 block of Sunnyside Avenue in Ben Lomond. Sept. 13 A laptop was stolen from the YMCA main conference room at 1 a.m. on the 16200 block of Highway 9 in Boulder Creek.
Sept. 9 Graffiti written in black pen on the bathroom walls of the park on the 9500 block of Mill Street in Ben Lomond was found at 7:30 a.m.
Scotts Valley Police Department Sept. 20 A 21-year-old man with signs of intoxication failed field sobriety tests and provided breath samples of 0.19 percent and 0.20 percent blood alcohol content after nearly crashing into a center divider on Highway 17 at Vine Hill Road. The legal limit is 0.08 percent BAC. The man and his 21-year-old passenger were arrested on suspicion of being drunk.
Sept. 17 Someone broke out several plastic letters from the signs for a bank on the 100 block of Kings Village Road at 6 p.m.
Sept. 15 A 44-year-old woman and 53-year-old man were arrested for being drunk in public at 10:28 p.m. on the 6000 block of La Madrona Drive.
