Pasta Factory donates to schools
Santa Cruz Pasta Factory of Scotts Valley has donated $785 to Scotts Valley public schools and Gateway Elementary School in Santa Cruz from its “Dinner’s In the Bag” program.
The program provides a meal that feeds four to six people. Depending on the day it is ordered, the business donates $5 to a school with every purchase.
“Dinner’s In the Bag,” available Tuesday through Thursday, can be ordered online at www.santacruzpastafactory.com. Orders must be received by 5 p.m. the previous day.
Photographer promotes Operation Smile
Scotts Valley photographer Jesse Flippen is joining photographers from across the county in a monthlong project to benefit Operation Smile, which treats children with facial deformities such as cleft palates.
Flippen, owner of Flip’s Photos, will contribute a portion of the fees from family portraits taken during October to the charity.

Aviza appeals NASDAQ delisting
Scotts Valley-based Aviza Technology, which supplies semiconductor-manufacturing equipment, is appealing a decision to delist its stock from the NASDAQ global stock market.
Aviza was notified of NASDAQ’s decision on Sept. 22.
The delisting is based on the company’s failure to rebound from its stock price dropping below $1. On Wednesday, Oct. 1, the price was at 39 cents a share.
Seagate drives in Acer notebooks
New Acer notebook computers contain Seagate Technology’s latest high-capacity hard drives, making them suitable for digital games, video and other storage-hungry uses.
Scotts Valley-based Seagate said Acer is installing the Seagate Momentus 5400.6 drives with 500 gigabytes of capacity.
