Scotts Valley Middle School’s new fundraising campaign does not include big events, bake sales or even a walkathon.
Scotts Valley Middle School’s new fundraising campaign does not include big events, bake sales or even a walkathon.
The approach to “Make A Splash” is simple — just write a check.
“You don’t have to buy things you don’t really need or volunteer time you don’t have,” said parent Rachel Yanez. “Simply write a check, and 100 percent of the donation goes directly to the school. You even get a tax deduction.”
The school’s Parent-Teacher Association is sponsoring the drive, which will help pay for library materials, computers, classroom materials, athletics and the school’s art, math and science programs.
To donate, mail a check to SVMS PTA, 8 Bean Creek Road, Scotts Valley 95066; or use PayPal on the school Web site, www.svms.santacruz.k12.ca.us.
