The state Public Utilities Commission has awarded Felton Friends of Locally Owned Water $67,000 in legal fees for its expenses as an intervenor in the recent California-American Water Co. rate case.

The money will be paid by Cal-Am. FLOW will pay attorney Ed O’Neill of San Francisco, who represents FLOW at a reduced fee.

In the case, the PUC granted only part of the increases sought by Cal-Am. The company’s Felton system is the target of a takeover attempt by the San Lorenzo Valley Water District, which has filed an eminent domain suit with approval of Felton residents.

Finally! A member of the press gets it right - "a takeover attempt by the San Lorenzo Valley Water District, which has filed an eminent domain suit". Now if they will blow the false cover off of the Socialist Food and Water Watch nutcases that are the other arm behind the pretentious FLOW effort, we might have a balanced rendering of the story. This is so not the grassroots effort that the Sentinel made it out to be. If/when the Measure W taxes kick in we will be paying some of the highest rates in the County....thanks to FLOW. Good grief!
