Little League kicks off opening day with ceremony |

Major League Baseball is just around the corner, but for area Little Leaguers, the season starts Saturday, March 8.
Scotts Valley Little League will host opening ceremonies at Siltanen Park and Vine Hill School beginning at 8 a.m. The first games of the season are Monday, March 10.
Scotts Valley has five majors teams, six triple-A teams, seven double-A teams and a handful of single-A and T-ball teams.
San Lorenzo Valley Little League is hosting its opening day Saturday at the SLV Little League field.
The majors division has four teams, minors (or triple-A) has five teams, double-A has four teams and the single-A league and T-ball each have a handful of teams.
The first game of the season will be played at noon at the high school’s little league field.
