Financial planner receives certification Christine Ingesson of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in Scotts Valley recently received her certified financial planner practitioner certification.

Ingesson is a financial adviser and financial planning specialist in the firm’s wealth management office in Scotts Valley.

Ingesson, who has worked with the Mize Group at the company since 2004, has met the experience and ethical requirements, completed financial planning coursework and passed the CFP certification examination.

Organizing workshops offered

Hestia’s Home Organizing owner Bethany Kilzer will teach two Saturday workshops through Scotts Valley Recreation in November.

“Organize It With Hestia’s” will be from 1 to 4:15 p.m. Nov. 5 at the Skypark classroom in Scotts Valley. The cost is $35 for city residents and $41 for nonresidents. The workshop will teach the basic principles of organizing a home.

The second class, “Stress-Less Holiday Organizing,” is scheduled from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Nov. 12 at the Skypark classroom. Kilzer will share holiday organizing tips to create a stress-free holiday season. The cost is $25 for city residents and $30 for nonresidents.

Spa gathering in the works

Balance Studio Spa will host spa gatherings from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, and Nov. 25, the Friday after Thanksgiving.

The spa, 912 Lakeside Drive in Felton, will host a drop-in day for women in the community that focuses on healing using holistic methods, natural herbs and healing energy, as well as facials, foot detoxes, infrared sauna, massage, waxing and more.

Life insurance man takes step up

Stephen Hoversten of Felton, a Modern Woodmen of America representative, recently earned the designation of Fraternal Insurance Counsellor.

The FIC title is an educational designation that can be earned by career life insurance representatives associated with fraternal insurance societies.

Hoversten dedicated more than a year to meet the exam and career development criteria set by the Fraternal Field Managers Association.

New yoga classes offered Inga Knudson is offering two yoga classes in the San Lorenzo Valley at new locations.

A beginning and intermediate hatha yoga class has begun from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at Valley Tae Kwon Do, 10090 Highway 9, in Ben Lomond. The cost is $10 per class for eight classes or $12 per class to drop in.

The second is Yoga for Girls, ages 11 through 14, from 4 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays at The Center for Healing, 6144 Highway 9, in Felton. Cost is $8 per class, or $10 to drop in.
