Event organizer Aura Clendenen wears her cycling jersey at the 2012 Mt. Charlie Challenge on May 5. According to organizers, the successful event attracted about 140 riders and raised more than $35,000 for the Scotts Valley Educational Foundation. About 80 volunteers marked the 100-mile, 100-kilometer and 50-kilometer courses throughout the county, manned rest stops and offered support to riders before they returned to the barbecue, held at Skypark.
