  • Midnight: A man was arrested and booked into Santa Cruz County Jail after deputies contacted him on the 700 block of Hillcrest Drive in Felton regarding a misdemeanor warrant for drunken driving.

May 5

  • 8:30 p.m.: A man was arrested in northern Boulder Creek after he allegedly entered a residence with a second person, stole a large amount of marijuana and attacked the homeowner. The man was booked into county jail, and the case was forwarded to the Mendocino County probation department.

May 4

  • 3:57 a.m.: A resident of the 200 block of Either Way reported that someone had been using his credit cards to make fraudulent purchases at businesses throughout Santa Cruz County.

Scotts Valley Police Department

May 7

  • 8:21 a.m.: City public works crews cleaned up two different locations on the 300 block of Kings Village Road after vandals wrote “Ftp, and Think” with black marker. 

May 6

  • 12:16 a.m.: A 54-year-old man was arrested, cited and released during a traffic stop on northbound Highway 17 near Santa’s Village Road on suspicion of driving with a license that had been suspended for a prior drunk driving incident.

May 4

  • 5:15 a.m.: A 27-year-old man was arrested for a misdemeanor warrant after officers stopped his vehicle at the intersection of Scotts Valley Drive and Dunslee Way on suspicion of speeding.

  • 4:56 p.m.: A woman reported that a ring had been stolen from her bank safety deposit box. She claimed a bank employee was responsible.

May 3

  • 5:17 p.m.: A woman reported that she was punched and had a firearm brandished at her while she was robbed of two pounds of marijuana on the 100 block of Mount Hermon Road.

May 2

  • 9 p.m.: A man was cited and released with a court date following a traffic stop on westbound Mount Hermon Road near the intersection of Glen Canyon Road after officers determined there was a warrant out for him.

April 30

  • 12:44 pm.: An Apple laptop computer, valued at $1,200, was reported stolen from a woman’s apartment on the 100 block of Lockewood Lane.

  • 10:06 p.m.: A 20-year-old man who was being arrested for outstanding warrants on the 6000 block of La Madrona Drive was found to be in violation of his probation by being in possession of narcotics without a prescription.

California Highway Patrol

  • As part of Distracted Driving Awareness Month in April, highway patrol officers working with local law enforcement agencies wrote 582 citations to Santa Cruz County motorists for distracted driving. Most of the tickets issued were for people talking on cell phones while driving, but 55 citations were issued for texting and driving, and six for other distracted driving violations. The month is designed to combat distracted driving through education and collaborative enforcement efforts with allied agencies.
