Steve Vance Scott

Nov. 30, 1943 — Aug. 23, 2012

A memorial celebration was held Sept. 8 for Steven Vance Scott, 68, who died at his home in Felton surrounded by family after a nine-month battle with cancer.

Mr. Scott worked as a film editor for NBC and as a garbage man during his life. Relatives said he was also a poet, an opera lover, a spiritual seeker and a musician. He played the ukulele, drums, harmonica, clarinet and saxophone.

Mr. Scott lived in Felton for 10 years.

He is survived by his wife, Paige Pentecost of Felton; sons, Thomas Scott of Oakland, Daniel Lewis of Vallejo and Vance Scott of Honolulu; stepdaughter, Sea Star; brother, Riley Scott of Sacramento; sister, Kathy Fowler of Corte Madera; and three grandsons.

A memorial service was held in the couple’s garden, and many relatives were in attendance among the 65 friends and neighbors who attended.

I was glad to hear that Steve may have had a more peaceful and happy life in his final 10 years and that he died surrounded with love.

I have to know: Is Paige Pentecost the same person we knew in Washington, D.C.? Was she once partner to Nicholas Hecht and mother of Mistral? If so, please let me know at : lanascott@mail.com

If so, there's one hell of a story there!
