Two runs approach for local schools

Baymonte Christian School and Scotts Valley High School seek participants for fun runs to help support technology and programming at the schools.

Baymonte Tech Trek

Baymonte will host its third annual Tech Trek 5 kilometer fun run, and 1 kilometer kids run on Saturday, Oct. 13.

The annual run raises money for technology at Baymonte. Last year the race raised more than $32,000 for the school’s technology program.

The race entry fee is $25 to run the 5 kilometer race (Free for Baymonte students) and $15 to run the 1-kilometer race (for 8-and-under). Runners receive a race bag, t-shirt and breakfast ticket. The 1 kilometer run begins at 8 a.m. and 5-K at 5:30 a.m.

A harvest festival and raffle will follow the race on the Baymonte campus. For information or to register: www.baymonte.org

 

Scotts Valley High School Bean Creek Run

The annual Bean Creek Run to support Scotts Valley High School will take place at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 21. The five mile run begins at the Scotts Valley Community Center and finishes at Scotts Valley High School.

Registration on www.active.com is $30 and each runner or walker will receive breakfast and a t-shirt following the race. Proceeds will benefit the Scotts Valley High School athletic program.
