A native of Santa Cruz, Mrs. Foster was the daughter of Jack and Mary (Greear) Legner. She died while on a cruise aboard the Carnival Inspiration in international waters off the northern coast of Baja California.
Mrs. Foster was among the first graduates of Santa Cruz High School’s TAM program. During 17 years as an employee of Scotts Valley School District, she worked her way up to a position as an accountant.
She volunteered to serve school lunches in Scotts Valley and with AWANA and ushered at Santa Cruz Bible Church. She had a black belt in tae kwon do.
Relatives said she loved animals, pet sitting and the Santa Cruz County Fair, as well as Natural Bridges State Park and Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park. She also enjoyed reading, roller coasters, jigsaw puzzles, travel, camping, hiking, knitting, biking and video arcades.
She is survived by two children, Christopher Brunetti of Aptos and Ashley Brunetti of Scotts Valley; six siblings, Arlene Bivans, and her husband, Mike, of Clay Center, Neb., Kenny Murray of Aptos, Vern Murray of Capitola, Cindy Murray of Watsonville, Don Murray, and his wife, Becky, of Scotts Valley, Alisha Walton, and her husband Ryan, of Capitola; and many other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
