I am a retired person, but I happen to have several grandchildren living in this area. Here is my opinion, for what's it's worth. Why can't we share the Scotts Valley skate park? Why can't there be a scheduled time for the children who want to ride their scooters, say 9 to 10 a.m., with another scheduled time in the afternoon, then clear it out for the skateboarders. Having the children with scooters mixed up with the skateboarders seems a little dangerous to me.
While visiting in Grenoble, France, a few years ago, I noticed that they have a train that goes through the town. The train comes out of a submerged area into the open area. Later in the day, as I went for a walk, I could hear some roaring noise that came out of the submerged tunnel-like tube. I inquired about it and I was astonished at the answer. Residents told me that since the train runs only once a day, usually at 10 a.m., they then turn the tunnel over to the skateboarders in the afternoon, since there are long sidewalks on either side of the rails. Now, that's what I call sharing.

The taxpayers of Scotts Valley will decide how their property is used.
Skaters can get used to sharing or they can get used to parents showing up and taking issue with teenaged wannabe thugs.
"Do I have to pull this car over??"
Of course, it's a dumb idea.
