A memorial service will be held Sunday for longtime Boulder Creek resident Marie Piccioni who died early this month. She was 100.

Mrs. Piccioni was born in Marsure Prov. Udine, Italy to Agostino and Anna U. (Canodotto) Tassano. She moved to the United States at 2 ½  and later became a U.S. citizen. She was the oldest of nine children and lived in Boulder Creek for 60 years.

Mrs. Piccioni worked at Sprouse-Reitz department store in Boulder Creek for 14 years. She was a member of the Marconi Club and belonged to square dancing and bowling groups. She had a wonderful life in Boulder Creek and many, many wonderful friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Beppino (Pete) Piccioni, her sister Victorina Giorgi and brothers Guido and John Tassan.

She is survived by sisters Eyda Giachetti of Milbrae, Olga Leslie of San Mateo, Louise Morrison of Ontario and brothers Giordano Tassan and wife Carol of San Mateo and August Tassan and wife Joan of Sunnyvale, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Lima & Campagna Sunnyvale Mortuary, 1315 Hollenbeck Avenue in Sunnyvale at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25.
