Thousands of dollars have already been raised for the family of a Scotts Valley man who was recently killed in a motorcycle crash.
Connor Wildey, 23, died in a motorcycle crash near Corralitos Road and Merk Road on Sept. 23.
Donations are going to help cover funeral and celebration-of-life expenses, memorial arrangements and other unexpected costs, per the GoFundMe page set up by his family.
“If you knew Connor, you know that he was more than a son — he was a loved one, a friend, a family member, and someone whose life touched the people around him. His life mattered, and his memory deserves to be honored,” reads a message on the fundraiser page.
At press time, the fundraiser had raised more than $7,800 toward a $10,000 target.
Elizabeth Malmquist organized the fundraiser on behalf of Michelle Wildey.
“There are no words that can truly prepare a parent for the unimaginable pain of losing their child. In the midst of their heartbreak, the family is now also facing the unexpected financial burden that comes with saying goodbye to someone they love so deeply,” the page reads. “We are coming together to help ease some of that burden.”
