Softball registration continues
The final round of in-person registration for San Lorenzo Valley’s girls recreational softball will be from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, outside the SLV middle school and high school gyms at 7105 Highway 9.
The league especially needs girls to participate in its under-14 league.

Tryouts for SV Little League
Scotts Valley Little League tryouts will begin Saturday, Jan. 9, for players with last names starting with A through L. Those with last initials M through Z will try out Jan. 16. 
All tryouts will be at the Baymonte Christian School field, 5000B Granite Creek Road, for players wanting to play in the AA, AAA and Majors divisions. 
Organizers ask that players arrive 20 minutes before their scheduled start time to check in and ensure that registration is complete.
Specific tryout times:
• AA (ages 7 through 10), 8:30 to 10 a.m.
• AAA (ages 9 through 11), 10:30 a.m. to noon.
• Majors (ages 9 through 12), 12:30 to 2 p.m.
If the tryouts are rained out, the makeup date will be the following day.
