Hazards of winter in tree country

Santa Cruz County building inspector John Ondrejka tapes off the house on Nellie Lane in Boulder Creek after getting Wednesday’s report of a fallen oak tree.
The tree fell on the right side of the house, blocking its only entrance door and forcing the tenant, Latoya Lawsha, with help from her neighbors, to break in through the window and retrieve her freaked-out cat.
