Scotts Valley Giants 8, SLV Phillies 6
The Giants scored five runs in the second inning, which included a double by Tanner Spence. The Phillies’ D’Shawn Hopkins threw three innings of one-run ball.
Scotts Valley Brewers 7, SLV Red Sox 0
The Brewers’ Nick Carli threw a no-hitter, 61-pitch complete game. Trevor Alvarez had three hits, and Ryan Edwards ended the game with a diving catch and double play.
Scotts Valley Ranger 5, SLV Indians 4
The Rangers scored two in the sixth for a comeback victory. The Indians had come back from a 3-0 deficit with help from Charlie Wiegel’s double and an RBI single by Jacob Cornelison. The Rangers’ Travis Lane struck out seven of the 13 batters he faced.
Minors
Cardinals 5, Giants 4
Manny Smith struck out five batters in 1-2/3 innings for the Giants. He also had two hits in defeat. For the Cardinals, Eli Valory followed Jacob Auldridge’s third-inning double with an RBI single.
Red Sox 9, Pirates 8
The Pirates’ five-run sixth inning ended just short of tying the Red Sox. For the Sox, Mark Carling struck out 10 batters in 3-2/3 innings. The Pirates’ big rally included an RBI single by Zane Sounders.
Giants 7, Yankees 2
The Giants’ Cody Edgemon cooled the hot Yankees bats with eight strikeouts in four innings in this close game, while the Giants were held to five hits.

Cardinals 9, A’s 0
The Cardinals were led by Jake Wiechmann, who was 3-for-4 with a homer, a double and three RBIs. Teammates Owen Rockow tripled and singled and Cole Amodeo doubled and singled with two RBIs. Pitchers Drew Collishaw and Wiechmann combined for the shutout. Jacob Utic had two hits for the A’s, while Drew Christensen doubled and Kyle Giguiere singled.
Brewers 7, SLV Red Sox 0
The Brewers’ Nick Carli twirled a one-hit, 61-pitch complete game for the win. Trevor Alvarez was 3-for-3 while Dawson Danner and Ryan Edwards had two hits each. The game ended on the defensive play of the year so far in the sixth inning, with a full diving catch by center fielder Edwards, who quickly rose and doubled the Red Sox runner off first.
Giants 8, SLV Phillies 6
Giants’ starter Tanner Spence gave up a run and a hit through 2.1 innings, leaving the game with a 7-1 lead. Jack Palmer went 3-for-3 with a double and three runs scored, Spence had two doubles and scored twice and Ryan Myers also doubled.
Giants 10, A’s 1
The Giants’ Jack Palmer pitched 2.2 innings of no-hit ball, and reliever Gregory Neiger allowed only one hit through the fifth. Ethan Emanuelson led the way with a 3-for-4 day, doubling and scoring three times, while Josh Anderson doubled and singled and Nathan Pisciotta doubled. Jacob Utic doubled for the A’s.
AAA
Braves 14, Marlins 12
Erik Olson had a bases-loaded triple and Joe Murray scored three times to lead the Braves to a 14-12 win over the Marlins. Garrett Hormel, Olson and Ian Gallagher each had two hits for the Braves. The Marlins’ Nik Olhsson and Connor Santos each had two hits and scored twice.
White Sox 13, Cubs 11
Each White Sox player reached base safely in a game that saw nine lead changes. Kieran Ruff led the way, going 2-for-2 with a double. Jack Kastner and Logan Hudson also hit doubles, while Neil Pacella and Brendan Magee each tripled. Catcher Kastner recorded three putouts at home plate. The Cubs’ Dillon Danner went 3-for-3, and Ian Thomas was 2-for-3 with a double.
Braves 11, White Sox 8
The Braves scored 10 runs in the first three innings and then held on to win 11-8. Erik Olson and Shane Ford each reached base three times for the winners, with Olson scoring each time and Ford scoring twice. Brendan Magee and Trevor Stocker both reached base all three times up for the White Sox, and each scored twice. Sox catcher Jack Kastner also recorded three outs at home plate.
AA
Volcanoes 13, Redwings 11
The Volcanoes’ Dominic Martinez had four hits; Anthony Petrini, Nolan Fish, Ambrosio Torres and Jaden Christensen all had three hits; while Brendan Hull, Matthew Ellis and Jacob Mealiffe had two each. Fish also caught three pop flies and received the Volcanoes’ game ball.
For the Redwings, Joey Birlem and Jackson Sutter had three hits each, and Paul Hanson, Sampson Ruderman, Dylan Leonard and Alex Sternbec each had two.
