Area businesses were recognized for their efforts in preventing alcohol sales to minors and staying in compliance with beverage control regulations.
Sixty-six businesses countywide were recognized with Responsible Alcohol Merchant Awards, including 12 locally: in Ben Lomond, Ben Lomond Mini Market & Liquors and New Leaf Community Market; in Boulder Creek, M&V Boulder Creek Liquors and Redwood Keg; in Felton, Felton Liquors, New Leaf Community Market and Rite Aid; and in Scotts Valley,
7-Eleven, Leo’s Scotts Valley Liquor Store, Safeway, Valero Corner Store and Village Bottle Shoppe.
RAMA winners were awarded a plaque or certificate to be posted in their stores and can participate in the Merchant Committed Campaign. The campaign provides each merchant with a pledge and a poster that shows the merchant’s dedication to not provide alcohol to youths.
