During the Nov. 2 general election, not only will Californians elect a new governor, but residents of Santa Cruz County also will elect many local officials.
Candidates began filing for local office June 12, on the heels of the gubernatorial primary in early June. The filing period ends Aug. 6, though incumbents can file until Aug. 11.
Those who wish to seek office should visit the Santa Cruz County Elections Department, 701 Ocean St., Room 210, in Santa Cruz, or the appropriate city clerk’s office.
To run for office, a U.S. citizen must be 18 years old and a registered voter in the relevant district or division. For information: www.votescount.com.
The following is a list of all the offices up for election on Scotts Valley, San Lorenzo Valley and Bonny Doon ballots.
