Derrick Reid Brock, 22, of Ben Lomond, has been sentenced to six years in the custody of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation for kidnapping, robbery and receipt of stolen property in Santa Cruz in November 2009.
Brock pleaded to all charges May 20.
According the Santa Cruz District Attorney’s Office, at a bar in Santa Cruz, Brock lured a man he knew into a car to smoke marijuana and then drove to a place outside of cell phone range, punched the other man in the face and took his keys and wallet before leaving him in a ditch.
Brock was on probation when he committed the crimes. While he was out on bail during the case, he fled from the police and was arrested for felony possession of methamphetamine.
