Letter: SV school board, parent groups work together

I want to set the record straight regarding the present Scotts Valley School District board.
Communication between them and parents has never been better. Over the past school year, I have seen a marked increase in availability by board members and in their willingness to listen to a variety of community members. Michael Schulman is actively involved in pursuing the necessary political paths to increase funding and has involved many community members in this effort.
In addition, the parent groups at all four schools have been working together for the first time under the umbrella of the Scotts Valley Educational Foundation. We are united with the board in the effort to preserve our kids’ education over the next few difficult years.
I have found board members both open-minded and solution-oriented, taking all student issues into consideration, not just those of the younger grades.
