The Ben Lomond Transfer Station has changed its layout to accommodate larger trucks that drive through the building.
Now, recyclers should drop off their materials on the left at the entrance of the recycling area by the oak tree instead of at the far end of the building.
Recyclers can turn in many materials for no fee, including cans, bottles, plastic containers, plastic bags, scrap-metal items, electronic equipment and hard plastic goods.
The transfer station also accepts used motor oil and antifreeze, as well as both household and car batteries daily for no fee.
A $10 fee is charged for other items, such as appliances, mattresses, box springs and carpeting, to help with the high costs of handling them.
