EDITOR,
“What kind of parent would allow their son to cheerlead?”
This question was overheard at the San Lorenzo Valley High School varsity football game on Sept. 4. I think better questions to ask are: What kind of parent would not support their child doing something they enjoy? What kind of parent would want their child to give in to peer pressure? What kind of parent would not want their child to show support for their school? What kind of parent would not be proud of their son for having the courage to pursue something, knowing he will be given a hard time about it? What kind of parent would ask “What kind of parent would allow their son to cheerlead?”?
We are the kind of parents who would allow our son to cheerlead, and we are very proud of him and the people who support him.
