The Bethany University fall sports teams are hurtling toward California Pacific Conference play. Here’s an update on what the teams have done in the past week.
Soccer
The men’s soccer team starts conference play against Cal State Maritime at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, at Skypark in Scotts Valley. The men were 2-2 in the preseason.
The women’s team also begins conference play at 1 p.m. Friday against Mills College at Skypark in Scotts Valley. The women were 0-2-1 in the preseason.
Volleyball
The Bethany women went 2-2 at the Tiger Fall Classic at Occidental College on Sept. 17 and 18. They played two successful matches in the tournament’s first day. They won the first against La Sierra University, 3-1, and the second against West Coast Baptist, 3-0. The next day, they fell to Occidental College and Medaille College, 3-1 and 3-0, respectively.
CPC play starts Friday, Sept. 24, with a home matchup against Mills College at 7 p.m. in the Redwood Auditorium. The women play another home match the next night, at 7p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, against Holy Names University.
Cross country
At the Mills Invitational on Saturday, Sept 18, all eight women had personal records in their races.
The men and women’s teams are heading to the Westmont Invite in Santa Barbara on Saturday, Sept. 25, for an out-of-conference meet.
