EDITOR,
I am happy to see a positive article, “Mass of supplies donated to 10 county schools” (Page 10, Oct. 22), about how businesses and school boards can work together for success in public education. As a mother of two and a teacher, I am thrilled that the County Office of Education is thinking outside the box and directly supporting schools in need. I appreciate the fact that time wasn’t lost in too many meetings, and how school supplies are being delivered straight to the classrooms. It’s wonderful to see this kind of teamwork and problem solving at the county level.
With the continually decreasing funds earmarked for California schools, I see teachers buying even copy paper for their individual classes. I trust that under Aaron Hinde’s leadership on the county office school board, we will continue to see people working together for the benefit of the children, ensuring their futures remain the priority. Thank you to everyone who united as community members, businesses, parents, teachers, and school administrators in the “binder project” to support our children’s learning.
