EDITOR,
I’m running for re-election to the Lompico County Water District Board of Directors because I care about my community, am proud to live here and want to give back. I am looking forward to continuing to serve on the board and hope to serve with Sean Wharton.
I am particularly proud of the professionalism of the board on which I serve and the respect with which we deal with one another, even when we disagree. I intend to do my very best to keep that level of civility in the coming years.
I recently noticed that Shannar Abraham’s campaign sign on Lompico Road was vandalized; one of mine had been vandalized earlier. I also notice that inflammatory posts have recently appeared on the Press-Banner comments page. None of these acts are, to me, what Lompico is about. The Lompico I know is about community involvement, people coming together to help and support one another, something which we especially need to do now.
I have pledged to run a civil campaign, to focus on issues and not on personalities; I urge everyone in our canyon to do the same and to show the rest of the county that the Lompico community stands for something better.
