Christmas caroling, choir performances and hot chocolate, along with a visit from Santa, will all be part of Scotts Valley’s annual Christmas Tree Lighting Festival at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at the Scotts Valley Community Center, 360 Kings Village Road.
The festivities begin with the Vine Hill Service Club, which will greet attendees and honor the flag with local Boy Scouts.
Christmas carols will follow, led by a musical team from Gateway Bible Church. Other music will be performed by the Scotts Valley High School chorale, the fifth-grade chorus, and others. Cheerleaders from Scotts Valley Middle School will help rev up the community’s spirit as trees are lit for Christmas.
Santa will arrive on a fire engine, and children can have pictures taken with Santa in exchange for a donation of a can of food
The event is also a fundraiser for Valley Churches United Missions, and organizers encourage people to take food to give.
