On Jan. 25, deputies of the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man awaiting trial for multiple counts of alleged child molestation when detectives were told he allegedly molested a second child in 2007.
Peter Konrad Sigmund, 43, was arrested without incident at his Brookdale home, according to the sheriff’s office. He was out of jail after posting bail for his August 2010 arrest for allegedly inappropriately touching a child younger than 14. That incident allegedly took place in 2010.
It wasn’t until January that police said that Sigmund allegedly had sexual contact with a second child under the age of 14. Sigmund is being held at Santa Cruz County Jail and his bail has been set at $450,000.
Sgt. Todd Liberty said that Sigmund had no prior criminal history, but police believer there could be more victims.
