Giants Take AA Post-Season Tournament
The Giants defeated the Mets to win SLVLL’s first AA post season tournament. The Giants only had one base runner in the first two innings, thanks in part to the Mets’ shortstop making all three outs in the first! Mike Manley led off the third with a single, and came home after Laine Otto’s first-pitch double, and Aiden Largay’s single. In the 4th, the Giants earned 3 more including a triple from Elena Ballas. In the fifth, RJ Kindred, Noah Brown, and Casey Crouch each doubled in a five-run inning. The Mets scored on Brody Cusimano’s fielder’s choice to short. Yeomans’ big night leads Braves to TOC’s
Craig Yeomans was summoned to the mound for possibly the first time all year in the
fourth, when the Dodgers were in the middle of a big inning.
The Braves went to bat in the bottom of the fourth, where Yeomans was to lead off.
Craig channeled his inner Roy Hobbs (google it, kid) and, after a 9 pitch, full-count
battle, crushed a deep drive for a home run to regain the lead. The Braves got insurance in the fifth with Ty Martinez’s huge one-out double to bring in Vinnie Prograce with the 6th run. The Braves go on to Pajaro for the Minors TOC’s which begin Sunday June 12.
