Steakhouse turns 21
Peachwoods Steakhouse celebrated its 21st anniversary with a “coming of age” party July 19, debuting an updated menu, bar drinks and special-event services.
Chef David Smith Founded the Pasatiempo steakhouse in 1991 at the Inn at Pasatiempo and the famed Pasatiempo Golf Club.

Exhibit at quilt shop
SueDee’s Quilting, Knitting and More has on display a group of embellished art quilts by Santa Cruz artist Thom Atkins. The exhibit, titled “Places I’ve Never Been, Things I’ve Never Seen,” consists of 27 pieces that can be seen in the Scotts Valley store through Aug. 31.
The store, 222-G Mount Hermon Road, is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week.

Organizing workshop offered
Bethany Kilzer, owner of Hestia’s Home Organizing, will teach an organization workshop through Scotts Valley Recreation from 6 to 9:15 p.m. Sept. 1.
Participants age 15 and older will learn if they are right- or left-brain dominant and the basic principles of organizing their living space.
The cost is $35 for city residents and $41 for nonresidents. The class will be taught at the Skypark classroom, 361 Kings Village Road, in Scotts Valley.

Financial adviser to co-host radio show
Sean O’Brien, a Scotts Valley financial adviser, has teamed up with radio host Greg O’Donnell, to host “Money Matters” on KSFO’s Hot Talk Radio. The show is scheduled for noon Saturday, Aug. 13, on AM 560.
The pair will also offer securities, financial planning and advisory services through Financial Telesis Inc., a registered investment adviser and a member of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and the Securities Investor Protection Corp.
O’Brien was previously president and mortgage planner at California Mortgage Lending Group and in 2008 began offering investment and retirement planning solutions. Before moving to Scotts Valley in 1999, O’Brien worked in television production at NBC, including as associate producer of “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” and co-producer of “In The House.”
Financial adviser named as top workplace
Edward Jones was named as one of the top 65 Bay Area Top Workplaces for 2011 according to the Bay Area News Group and research partner WorkplaceDynamics of Pennsylvania.
The Bay Area Top Workplaces program recognizes companies based on employees’ opinions about company leadership, compensation and training, diversity, career development, family-friendly flexibility, and values and ethics. This was Edward Jones’ first entry in the competition.
