Eshoo announces re-election campaign
Rep. Anna Eshoo (D-Palo Alto) announced that she will run for reelection in the newly-draft 18th Congressional District of California.
Eshoo has represented the Silicon Valley since 1992. In the announcement, she noted that her priorities “are keeping jobs here, attracting new ones and expanding government support for new technologies that will create the next generation of industries and jobs.”
She has not yet planned any campaign stops in Santa Cruz County.

Wine tasting with the stars
Scotts Valley Performing Arts will host a fundraising wine-tasting event on Sept. 11 for the upcoming production of “Annie Get Your Gun” at Skov Winery, 2364 Bean Creek Road in Scotts Valley.
The stars of the show will be on hand, along with wines, light refreshements and entertainment from the Western Skylarks. There will also be a contest for “Best Western Garb” and a chance to win free tickets to the show which will open Sept. 30 at the Bethany Theater.
