EDITOR:
The federal grant of over $248,000 for the repair and maintenance of the Felton Historic Covered Bridge, would not have been possible without the frequent help and assistance of the following people:
Bob Olsen and Cristina James, Santa Cruz County park planners, and their whole 17th Avenue office staff, where I researched for 20 days for the grant; Bill Monning, Assembly member, 27th district, and Adam Spickler, his Santa Cruz office field representative; Joe Simitian, California state senator, 11th district, and Rose Filicetti, Senior Field Representative, Santa Cruz Office; Mark Stone, Santa Cruz County Supervisor 5th District, and Maureen McCarty, Supervisor’s Analyst (and great guide); Anna Eshoo, Member of Congress, (for much help) and also her office staff in Palo Alto.
I want you readers all to know about who has helped me during the last three months to get the grant application accepted in Washington and now a reality. The Historic Bridge does need lots of help and the money will be spent right here in San Lorenzo Valley!
William W. Burton, retired civil engineer, GMBA, Ben Lomond
