Air Force Airman 1st Class Shane Barron, a 2005 San Lorenzo Valley High School graduate and a 2007 graduate of NASCAR Technical Institute in North Carolina, graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
Barron, who earned the distinction of honor graduate, is the son of Susan Newman of Boulder Creek.
Air Force Airman Steven Carrillo, a 2006 San Lorenzo Valley High graduate, graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base.
Carrillo is the son of Ben Lomond resident Rigo Carrillo.
Air Force Airman Ashlee Andrada, a 2006 Santa Cruz High School graduate and the daughter of Scotts Valley resident Katherine Applegate and John Andrada of Watsonville, graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base.
Andrada earned the distinction of honor graduate.
The three graduates completed the intensive eight-week program that included training in military discipline, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
