Scotts Valley Police are looking for two Hispanic men who were interrupted during a residential burglary in north Scotts Valley this morning.
A man and woman walked into their living room on Meadow Way, near Granite Creek Road, a little before 9 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6 and found two younger Hispanic men – one standing in the living room and another near the kitchen.
“When confronted, the two men bolted out the back door,” said Sgt. Mike Dean.
The male resident of the home chased the intruders, but was about 50 yards behind. He told police that he saw the two men get into a red 4-door Ford sedan that drove off, Dean said.
Scotts Valley police immediately broadcast the description of the vehicle and requested the activation of Project ROPE (Roadblock Observation Plan of Enforcement) which alerted all law enforcement in the North end of the county to watch for the suspect vehicle.
The suspects were not apprehended. The residents told police that several items were taken, and one item was recovered. Police are canvassing the neighborhood and continue to follow leads. They ask that anyone that has seen a similar suspicious vehicle in their neighborhood to call police dispatch, 440-5670.
