Football midgets into championship game
The Scotts Valley Falcon Police Activities League Football Midget team, consisting of 12 to 14 year-old-players, went undefeated through the regular season with an 8-0 record and continued their success in the playoffs. The team won their first two games and will face Milpitas in the championship game, at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19 at the PAL Stadium in San Jose.
Trouble softball to hold tryouts
The Trouble softball team will hold girls 18-and-under fast-pitch softball tryouts at the Aptos High School softball field on Nov. 20 and Dec. 4.
Tryouts for pitchers and catchers will be held from 12 to 1 p.m. and all other players from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

IOOF Softball: Fall Champions crowned
The San Lorenzo Valley IOOF softball league held its fall playoffs and championship games for the Fall Co-ed recreational A and B Divisions on Nov. 12, at Michael Gray Field in Felton.
The Steelheads won the A-Division championship game 15-12 against Icy Hot and the Mountain Mechanics won the B-Division championship game 13-9 against the Mount Hermon Banana Sluggers. The Steelheads have now won six A-Division championships in a row and nine out of the last 10 A-Division championships.
