Santa has moved in BC
Boulder Creek will host its annual tree lighting Friday, Nov. 25, and Santa Claus will be on hand at a new spot in Boulder Creek.
The event has moved downtown behind Boulder Creek Hardware, 13110 Central Ave., where the main stage will be set up with live entertainment while residents wait for Santa to take the stage.
Previously, the tree above Rainbows End was lit at the north end of town. Now, the large redwood in the center of town above Boulder Creek Antiques will be lit.
The festivities will start at 5 p.m., with Christmas carols at 5:30 p.m., Santa’s arrival at 6 p.m. and the tree lighting. The event will continue through 8 p.m.
Photos with Santa will be taken at Taqueria Los Amigos, 13070 Central Ave., and carriage rides will be offered around town.

Trial ongoing for Ben Lomond double homicide
The trial of Michael McClish, who has been accused of killing Ben Lomond woman Asha Veil and her unborn baby, continued this week.
After jury selection, which took most of a week, the trial began Oct. 26 with opening statements from the prosecution, led by Assistant District Attorney Jeff Rosell.
The prosecution’s case has continued for more than three weeks and was likely to have concluded this week after press time. McClish’s defense, led by attorney Tom Walraff, will begin following the prosecution.

Rainfall slightly behind last year
Rainfall totals recorded by Cal Fire in Felton are slightly behind last year’s above-average rainfall total. As of Saturday, Nov. 12, Felton had received 5.53 inches of rain, slightly down from 6.39 inches at this time a year ago. Total rainfall in Felton last year was 62.14 inches.
