School has been cancelled for a second-consecutive day in the San Lorenzo Valley Unified School district.
Much of the San Lorenzo Valley remained without electricity for a second day, prompting the closure of the local schools.
A major wind storm knocked over trees and power lines throughout Santa Cruz County on Wednesday and Thursday. The wind has subsided as of Friday morning, allowing PG&E crews to work safely.
Scotts Valley regained power and school in the Scotts Valley Unified School District will proceed as normal today after Thursday’s closure.
