A wildland fire that started early this afternoon in Bonny Doon was contained after burning a quarter-acre off of Pine Flat Road.
“I believe it may have been related to the power lines up there,” Cal Fire’s John Ferreira said.
Early reports were that downed wires started a slow moving fire in the area of Atherly Lane off of Pine Flat Road. Ferreira said investigators are looking into the cause of the exact cause of the blaze.
The fire was reported at 12:53 p.m. and was fully contained before 2:15 p.m. No homes were reported burned.
Both Bonny Doon Fire District and Cal Fire responded to the scene.
The last major wildland fire in Bonny Doon was last June when the Martin Fire burned 520 acres along Martin Road.
