Winter volleyball camp on tap
Zoe Beltz will hold the Winter Valley Volleyball Camp at the San Lorenzo Valley Middle School January 2-4. For 4th through 6th graders, camp will be held daily from 4 to 5:30 p.m. For 7th and 8th graders the camp will run 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Falcon girls basketball on track
Natalia Ebrahemian has come into her own, averaging 19.3 points per game in leading the Falcons through one of the toughest pre-seasons the team has ever faced. The lady Falcons are currently 5-2 with their losses coming against Division I Palo Alto and Division II Archbishop Mitty. The team averages 50 points per game with their last victory coming over Menlo Atherton, 43-30 on Dec. 16. League play begins January 3 at home against Santa Cruz High.
Cougar boys led by Mullins in preseason
Billy Mullins has paced the young Cougars basketball team, averaging 16.7 points a game as the team bounces up and down through the pre-season. San Lorenzo Valley is 4-6 through ten games with two more preseason games remaining before SCCAL play begins. After beating Pacific Grove and Monte Vista (Cupertino) high schools on Dec. 16 and 17, The Cougars dropped back to back games to Christopher and Alvarez on Dec. 19 and 20.
The team will next host Santa Clara High at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27 and Corona Del Mar (from Newport Beach) at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 30.
Falcon boys find early success
New Head Coach Charles Burks has the Falcons on a hot streak as the Scotts Valley boys team finds itself above .500 going 5-4 thus far in the pre-season.
Senior Jack Pasquini has led the charge averaging 14.5 points per game for the Falcons who toppled their last two opponents Del Mar High (San Jose) 42-33 on Dec. 13 and Gonzales High 49-38 on Dec. 20.
Ari Wargon and Garrett Johnston are averaging 7 points each. The Falcons play next at the Condor Christmas Classic at North Salinas on Dec. 28 at 8 p.m. against Salinas High.

Cougar girls looking for first win

The San Lorenzo Valley Girls basketball team, led by Kaitlyn Lotz who is averaging 10 points a game, is still in search of their first victory of the season. The Cougars are 0-6 and looking to improve.
After their best offensive outing of the season against Sobrato High on Dec 17 in a 47-41 loss, the Cougars hope to regain some momentum against Independence High on Dec. 21 after press time, before starting league play at Saint Francis of Watsonville on Wednesday, Jan. 4 at 7 p.m.
