Lisa Yee, 27, has been named Santa Cruz County’s Dispatcher of the Year after serving at the local 9-1-1 center since 2004.
Yee was nominated for the honor by her colleagues at the Santa Cruz Consolidated Emergency Communications Center and then handpicked by management.
“(Yee) is an excellent dispatcher and call-taker,” said one of Yee’s supervisors, Margaret Parker. “Her work quality and ethics are of a high standard, and she willingly goes above and beyond.”
Yee, who lives in Scotts Valley, is a 2003 graduate of University of California, Santa Cruz, where she earned a business and economics degree.
Flying high
U.S. Air Force Airman Ryan Sessions, a 2007 Scotts Valley High School graduate, graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. Sessions is the son of Ben Lomond’s Mark and Kristine Sessions.
Sessions completed an extensive eight-week program that included training in military discipline, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.
Gallagher, Condy make honors list
Grace Gallagher from Scotts Valley made the Honors List for Franklin & Marshall College’s spring 2009 semester.
Gallagher is the daughter of John Gallagher and Margaret Gallagher from
Scotts Valley and is a graduate of Archbishop Mitty High School.
Bryan Condy graduated in May with high honors from UC Berkeley, majoring in chemical engineering. He was a member of Alpha Chi Sigma professional chemistry fraternity, Tau Beta Pi, the engineering honor society, and the Golden Key International Honour Society.
The son of Bill Condy and Jondi Gumz of Scotts Valley, he graduated in 2005 from Scotts Valley High School, where he started a campus recycling program and earned the International Baccalaureate diploma.
