Free financial planning seminar
The Scotts Valley Chamber of Commerce will offer its third annual Scotts Valley Financial Planning Clinic from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4 at the Scotts Valley Community Center.
The free event allows people to address specific financial questions with professional financial planners who will volunteer their time.
There will also be a seminar from 2 to 3 p.m., titled “Achieving and Keeping a Secure Retirement.”
Each attendee can meet with planners privately for 20 to 30 minutes during the seminar.
Get married on Valentine’s Day
Santa Cruz County’s deputy marriage commissioners will perform civil marriage ceremonies every half hour from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14.
Couples must reserve a time by calling 454-2060 or going to the county clerk’s office at 701 Ocean St., Room 201, in Santa Cruz. Couples must have a marriage license before the scheduled ceremony. A license costs $75.
Weddings will be broadcast live on the Internet via the “WedCam” on the county clerk’s website, www.sccoclerk.com.

‘Rockadamus’ to air
A documentary about a mysterious rock that is brought to Santa Cruz by Doug Harrington will air this week on Community Television of Santa Cruz County.
“Rockadamus: The Harbinger Rock” will air at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1; at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5; and at 3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, on Comcast Channel 27 and Charter Channel 73. For live streaming: communitytv.org/ctv3
Spanish class for singles
A weekly Spanish class for single people will begin Tuesday, Feb. 7, at the Satellite Telework Center, 6265 Highway 9, in Felton.
The class will be taught by Stella Norfleet and will meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. each Tuesday. Cost is $25 per class, with discounts for five or more classes.
