
A Lompico man was arrested Feb. 2 for crashing his vehicle into a downtown Boulder Creek building and having several pounds of marijuana.
When Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s deputies responded to at 13155 Central Ave. at 11:24 p.m., they allegedly found Austin Stiles, 20, standing nearby the crash.
Stiles reportedly admitted to falling asleep at the wheel, which led to his vehicle striking the building.
Deputies searched the vehicle, in compliance with Stiles’ probation, and allegedly found about seven pounds of processed marijuana, a pound of hashish, a scale, packaging material and controlled medications inside.
Stiles also allegedly tried to destroy methadone that he was carrying.
He was arrested and booked into Santa Cruz County Jail on suspicion of possession of marijuana for sale, methadone possession, violation of his probation, resisting arrest and possession of stolen property.
