Scotts Valley alumnus throwing well in AA
Scotts Valley High School alumnus Robbie Erlin has a 2-1 record and a 2.67 earned run average in seven starts for the San Diego Padres AA affiliate, the San Antonio Missions, this season.
Erlin, who is currently on the 7-day disabled list, has 45 strikeouts in 33 2/3 innings pitched.
The lefty is a 2009 Scotts Valley High School graduate drafted by the Texas Rangers in the third round of the 2009 MLB first-year player draft. He was traded to the Padres organization with pitcher Joe Wieland for pitcher Mike Adams in July 2011.
Scouts and various journalists who cover the Padres have projected that Erlin will make his major league debut in 2013.
