Prather football camp returns
Former San Lorenzo Valley High School football stars Waylon and Harlan Prather will host the third annual Prather Football camp on July 14 and 15 at Cabrillo College.
The camp is a non-contact offensive and specialist camp for boys and girls ages 5 to 14. The veteran players will coach the quarterback, wide receiver, running back, tight end, punter, snapper and kicker positions.
The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 14 and from noon to 4 p.m. July 15 at Carl Connelly Football Stadium at Cabrillo College in Aptos.
The cost is $135 per camper for both days, or $70 for one day. The fee includes a T-shirt and lunch. The cost is reduced to $120 for those who sign up before July 4
Both Prather brothers played football for Cabrillo College. Waylon then starred as a punter at San Jose State University, and Harlan as a quarterback for California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo.

Maxwell takes third at nationals
San Lorenzo Valley High School sophomore Anna Maxwell took third in the 3,000-meter run at the USA Junior Outdoor Track and Field Championships this past weekend in Bloomington, Ind.
Maxwell was trying to qualify for the AAF World Junior Championships that will take place in Barcelona, Spain, in mid-July.
Maxwell finished the race in 9 minutes, 55.95 seconds, nearly a half-minute behind winner Aisling Cuffe of Stanford University (9:28.93) and second-place finisher Lindsay Crevoiserat (9.33.46) of University of Connecticut who both qualified for the world championship.
There were 16 runners from around the country in the race.
Maxwell finished sixth in California in the 3,200-meter run at the state championships June 2.
Local sinks hole-in-one
Felton resident Richard Robertson, 57, sank a hole-in-one at Valley Gardens Golf Course on June 15.
Robertson used an 8-iron on the 109-yard par-3 third hole.
