Catania

A celebration of life is planned in Boulder Creek this weekend for Mary Lou Catania, a former Boulder Creek resident, who died May 30 in Stockton. She was 67.
Mrs. Catania was born in Chicago and lived in Boulder Creek for 20 years. She worked 12 years as a teacher’s aide at Boulder Creek Elementary School. She also volunteered at San Joaquin General Hospital in French Camp, near Stockton, where she was named Volunteer of the Year in 2001.
Relatives said she loved music, camping, baking, the Dallas Cowboys, “I Love Lucy” and time spent with family and friends.
Mrs. Catania is survived by her husband, Bob Catania of Stockton; children, Jeana Correllus of Ben Lomond, Tony Catania of Stockton and Joey Miller of Santa Cruz; son-in-law, Rob Correllus of Ben Lomond; and one grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Ann LaGro.
A celebration of Mrs. Catania’s life will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 30, at Scopazzi’s, 13300 Big Basin Way, in Boulder Creek.
